Kinja'd!!!

I drove this (well, a red one) for 200 miles today. It's my sister's new truck. Here's a breakdown:

The paint is in great condition

The seats are comfy

Due to having a rusted-out muffler, it sounds fantastic when you put your foot in it

Unfortunately, when you put your foot in it, not much else happens. I wonder how a 4.3l V6 goes no faster than a 3.8l V6 in a car of similar weight.

The gas pedal is annoyingly sensitive for the first micrometer of travel, and the next five inches does NOTHING

The steering is more vague than my sexuality

The radio is arse

The speakers are worse than arse

Small truck, SO MUCH INTERIOR SPACE

Three 12v outlets? That's quite handy

Gas gauge was broken

There was water pouring out from underneath the glove box

There was water leaking out from the engine

There was water pouring from the sky (might have been rain)

Somehow manages to feel very slow and very fast at the same time

Despite all of the bulbs working fine, the right blinker was faster than the left blinker, but ONLY WHEN IN DRIVE. Worked fine in park. I have no explanation for this.

Conclusion: I give the 99 Silverado three burritos out of nine French immigrants. I want my Buick back, dammit.

"There was water pouring from the sky (might have been rain)"

There's really no way of knowing around here anymore...

Really when it comes to full-size its V8s or go home (exception =cummins I-6 & some brand new V6s).

With the 5.3 these are good trucks.

GM truck seats are always the best seats

I thought I was the only one who noticed how sensitive the gas pedal was in these trucks for the first like millimeter.

Vague steering is expected, it's a truck

I guess it doesn't have the Bose system, because the stock speakers are arse like you said

SO ROOMY. Imagine how big the extended cab model is!

Why do I not recall a third 12v outlet? Only the two under the radio (kinda)

All the guages will die at some point, GM used really cheap actuators for the needles in this generation of truck. My dad's speedo and gas gauge stopped working

Slow and Fast, I completely understand!

I was on vacation and it didn't come with me. All there was to drive was the Silverado and the Passat. Thank god I'm back home with my baby.

Nah, except now it lives on the curb because my sister's truck seems to overrule it for the last garage space (don't get how that works).

Voltage drop in the system somewhere that shows up with more strain from the lower RPM in gear.

Borrowing my dads 2000 Sierra is always an interesting experience as it takes me a moment to transition from my rather small MR2.
